Inspection Chambers - The Options Available (Video)

Inspection chambers are a crucial component of any drainage system, providing access points for maintenance, inspection, and cleaning. At Drainage Sales, we offer the UK’s largest range of inspection chambers, ensuring you can find the right solution for your specific installation. Understanding the different types and features available will help you select the best option for your project.

One of the most common options is the mini inspection chamber, typically 300mm in diameter. These are compact yet effective, ideal for smaller drainage networks where space is limited. For larger systems, the standard inspection chamber, with a 450mm diameter, provides a more accessible entry point for maintenance. Both options come with a variety of lids to suit different installation requirements.

When selecting a lid, it's important to consider where the inspection chamber will be located. For driveway installations, you have the choice between round or square lids for 450mm chambers. Square lids are particularly useful when installing block paving or patios, as they allow for a neater finish against the surrounding surface. In addition to standard driveway lids, recessed lids are available for both 300mm and 450mm chambers. These recessed options allow for block paving or patio slabs to be placed inside, blending the chamber seamlessly into the surrounding ground.

For internal applications, different lid options ensure both practicality and aesthetics. Standard internal double-seal lids are available for both chamber sizes, providing a simple, plain cover suitable for installation inside conservatories or outbuildings. If a more integrated finish is needed, a fully sealed recessed lid is an excellent choice, as it allows for screeding or flooring to be laid inside while still maintaining access to the chamber.

Another important variation is the level invert mini chamber. Unlike standard designs, this chamber features side inlets that run at the exact same height as the main channel. This design is particularly useful when maintaining drainage height is a priority, preventing the system from dropping too deep too quickly.

All inspection chambers in our range are designed with ease of installation in mind. The main inlet comes open at the base, while the side inlets are initially blanked off with a cap. If you need to use a side inlet, simply remove the cap and push the pipe in. For added flexibility, we offer complete inspection chambers as well as individual component parts, allowing you to build or modify your drainage system to meet specific requirements.

By offering a comprehensive selection of inspection chambers and accessories, Drainage Sales ensures that both professional builders and DIY enthusiasts can find the right solution for any drainage project. Whether you need a discreet internal cover, a reinforced driveway lid, or a level invert system to maintain consistent depth, there is an option tailored to your needs.
